In Portland, we celebrate Pride in June and while we may be famous for our rain, no matter the weather, the day seems bedazzled with glorious sunshine and optimism.
 
It's wonderful and life-affirming to see crowds of people cheering the parade as it marches through our city streets.
 
Young, old, flamboyant or plain -- on that day, we embrace the the idea of love in its many forms.
